but otherwise, a nice day.

He's Got Us
The power's already been off and on. And now the internet's having a hard time. When the wind hits 64 MPH the power company shuts down to avoid damage. We'll catch up when we can.
Update:
Earl seems to be moving on already. Power's back on, wind's not so loud, rain's tapering off, but still sideways.

The Creation of a Monster
What follows is a tale of obsession.
We've been looking after the neighbors' pool in their absence- a pool surrounded by several coconut palms. While cleaning the pool (swimming around) one of the skimmer poles may have inadvertantly knocked down a couple of the coconuts.
Knowing that Rascal loves fresh coconut, we shared the last bits with him.

No Wind
No wind for the last few days meant a trip to explore part of the northern coastline for tidal pools was in order. The mountains that drop into the sea have been getting pounded by waves for a few years now, so there are dozens of spots where you can swim through cracks and tunnels- some of which lead to nice quiet calm pools.
No wind was not a helpful factor for the 2nd Annual Kite Flying Day to support the Virgin Islands Autism Network.
But that didn't stop dozens of kids from running like, well...sugar-crazed kids to make their own wind.
