Best Christmas Present Ever!

What do you get the guy who already has everything he wants?

A flight around the island!

The pilot took off and landed, but in between he handed over the controls to me,

so of course we flew all around Salt River

and our apartment,

Christiansted's harbor and the house we might be buying.

And Lisa managed to keep the screaming to a minimum

One thing that I was really excited to see was what the world looked like from 350ft up- the deepest I've been underwater.

We leveled off at 350 near Isaac's Bay and, around here, it looks like this-

I don't think I really understood how deep I have been until then.

 We arrived early for what we consider to be the beginning of the Christmas season on St Croix,

but not early enough to beat the long lines for bucket rides.

 This year there were 20+ boats from giant

 to tiny,

 conceptual (dolphins pulling Santa's sleigh),

and even laser light shows.

After a couple of laps around the harbor everyone watched to the east for

fireworks!

After which the revelry continued into the night.

So this boat showed up as I was putting the dive boat on its mooring for the night.

Pretty sure they dropped their anchor chain right across the coral reef we were diving on earlier.

Evidently the horse that adopted us has decided to move on.

I'll miss it, but I suspect our neighbor who did all the shoveling will not.
