We dinghied ashore in front of the only structures on the island.
They used to be occupied by a family that lived there for generations- one of the last being Hard Hat Henry who always wore a hard hat after several assaults by falling coconuts knocked him a little loopy.
Right behind the palm trees is a wide shallow salt pond.
As the sea water evaporates over the summer each year, it leaves behind salt-encrusted sand
of which I now have a bowlful.
