Afternoon Delight

This is most of what's left of Afternoon Delight after hurricane Earl smashed her against the rocks around the Frederiksted Pier.

A couple of sailboats got washed ashore, too. Maybe I'll get some pics of them later.

For a jog well done

I do my best to time my evening jogs so that I finish at the same time as the sun. I get a very nice reward when it works.

Here Comes the Sun

This morning we got up REALLY early and watched the sunrise at Point Udall, the easternmost point of the United States.

It was gorgeous in every direction.

Even Rascal, who is not a morning dog, had a good time.

It's a good thing it was a nice morning for it because I may never get Jeff out of bed that early again...

Anita's 40th Birthday!

and Lisa's first slice of cake in over 5 months.

My friend Anita was the catalyst for our move to St Croix and we couldn't have been happier tonight than to help celebrate #40 and her own pesonal Yom Kippur.

Feeling like a million bucks. Or ten.

Busy Beach

Usually our beaches are reasonably deserted,

but today was Reef Jam!

Sargassum Triggerfish

The first one I've ever seen.

There were about 30 of them.

Seaplane!

I am fascinated by the seaplane. Hopefully someday I'll get to fly in it- I don't care where, I just want to take off and land on the water.

Soon it will be delivering my nephew for a visit.

Fiona?

We thought this was the beginnings of TS Fiona passing overhead.

Turns out we got about 3/4 of an inch of rain in about 20 minutes, then it cleared up and wasn't even particularly cloudy all afternoon!
Its too early to tell, but Gaston looks like he might be a problem.
